March summer, April showers, Farmers Markets!

Hello all you loyal readers,

I am just going to stop mentioning that time is flying, because it is becoming quite tiresome to hear.  I always feel like I am barely keeping up with the whirlwind of life's activities.  We had a nice trip to the Grand Canyon and the Arizona Grand Resort over Spring Break, and it was really nice to just hang out and do slower, enjoyable things, like camping, eating fire roasted marsh mellows and float around in a gigantic hot tub.  Although those of you who know me probably figured that I was in fact making jewelry at every non-offensive opportunity (some may disagree about the non-offensive part.)  We had some good driving stints, and Craig drove every mile, even though he was sick, so that I could work away in the passenger seat.  I really did work my fingers off, and paid at home for a while with a super stiff "tennis elbow", which now has become another chronic "jewelry injury".  No one said getting old was fun (but it really is sometimes!)

Two days after our return, I did my first showing at the Scripps Ranch Farmer's Market.  Boy, do I have a lot to learn about displaying products and interacting with customers.  It is an awesome journey though, and I am really enjoying peeking at other vendors' booths and getting tips and ideas.  I generally bristle when I think someone is trying to sell me something, so I figured I would just sit back and let people come to me.  Turns out, not so great.  I am working on cracking out of my comfort zone to do the chit chat that goes with retails sales.  Woe is me.  My friends who have come to the market have probably noticed my look when I see them to be something like relief or a drowning victim that has just been thrown a life ring.  Thanks so much to all my buds that have dropped in, you are the best!

In addition to the S.R. Farmer's Market, I have a display at the Blue Mug coffee shop in Escondido.  I mentioned this place a couple months ago, and it is really cool.  If you are around north county area, you should stop by and say hi to Stephanie, the owner, who is always friendly and ready to give amazing service.  They have this unusual brew bar where they actually brew your coffee individually from the beans and you have about 30 different varieties to choose from. The beans are in jars on the counters and the smell is incredible.  This coffee beats the crap out of Starbucks, that is for sure.  Their frozen drinks are SUPER YUMMY....believe me, you will agree.  Check 'em out.

So, I must put some new photos out there of the stuff! In addition to experimenting with wire styles etc., and I have been working on the glass pendants as well.  I hope to be able to bring a generator to the market in the future and be able to add initials etc. to the glass pendants right on the spot.

Funky spiral, a snake perhaps??

For my friend K.C., Katherine

This photo is total crap, but the glass is a dark coffee/amber color and is ridged.  This is a rare piece.

The following photos are an assortment of pieces I made since my last blog update.  I really hope you enjoy checking them out as much as I enjoyed making them.  If you see something you like, let me know via FB, e-mail, text, whatever!  Thanks for reading, friends!!

Sarah

Glass pearls in assorted colors, easy for matching outfits.

I love these...you won't find another pair like it. Byzantine chain maille with silver and purple!

Jasper

I am so happy with these.  They are super heavy gauge wire, drill twisted.  The post is actually a 20 gauge wire (fits in your ear) that goes through the whole hoop, so its super strong.  These look bitchin' on.

Modern art, right?  Purple Czech crystals

A larger version of the one I made a while back for Jodie.  Any color crystal looks cool. I have since made a Peridot green one for Natascha.

Blues, my fave.  Another of the line of cuffs.

I love this simple, sweet watch.  I have been wearing it myself lately.

Chain maille combined with red beads.

I love the heavy wire wrapping on these stones.

Only bold women need check this one out...it is several wire colors twisted into a strong collar.  You can't tell too much from the photo, but this stone sparkles with gold flecks.

I donated this one to my niece's pageant organization.  I like the combo of metallic glass pearls.

The Celtic set.

bracelet, very elegant.
the necklace..you can alter the length, see the chain at the clasp.
Red and silver twisted hearts, joined

another hoop pair I adore. these are lighter, a nice mix of metals

These twisted rings float around each other in a really easy way

Ok, Kaylynne convinced me to get the skull beads.  Fun. I have various colors

Hoops that face out, another mixed metal.

This is an awesome long necklace for work.  I make and hammer all the rings, they are super strong.  An assortment of neutral colored semi-precious stones attaches the rings.

Fresh water pearls with twisted jump rings accents.  This necklace works with or without the dangly pearls.
